THAW – The Health And Wellness

Health, love & happiness!

Sunday October 3rd, 2021 I have an idea which continues to run through my mind, and it seems to be in search of a venue or platform in which to expand through general discussion among a group of people (members, participants, networkers, etc.). I ran this idea by my wife, who was in church preparation mode at the time, and received from her the first response to the question, how would you finish this statement? The Health And Wellness… Her response was, “for healthy living.” The idea is precisely that statement made to my wife which I later said to her that The Health And Wellness can also be referred to as the acronym, THAW and gave her some examples of the kind of thaw I was thinking about.

When you think of thaw, I said, it was a word used by news reporters and politicians to describe the warming of relations between two “cold war” adversaries like the US and then USSR (now the Russian Federation); She looked at me as if I didn’t speak clearly, so I said to her, what do you do to your frozen chicken before cooking it? To which she replied, “thaw it out;” and then I said, it’s the same as what happens in the Spring after a bitterly cold winter that brought a lot of snow. We both said at the same time, “thaw,” and I said “right, THAW” which is also short for The Health And Wellness…

The idea, as I think of it, is to get people engaged in conversation around the subject of health and wellness, so leaving the statement unfinished invites multiple finishes thereby initiating the discussion. I later did a Google search for The Health And Wellness just to see what finishes the autofill function would suggest and it suggested the following:

Feeling lucky

…Center, Company, Clinic, Center Oklahoma, Center St Louis, Center by doylestown, Center Stigler, Industry, Center Inc, Pavilion Wexford, expo, benefits.

I then scrolled down a little further and noticed the Google Search button, “I’m Feeling Lucky,” and after a click of that button I was pleasantly surprised by the results. It opened an article titled, What is Health and Wellness? This article was written by Medical Author, Rohini Radhakrishnan, ENT, Head and Neck Surgeon Medical and published to the website, MedicineNet. It was a very interesting article which I enjoyed reading because it provided great insight and discussed a different aspect of how Health and Wellness should be viewed in relation to each other.

I took the following excerpt from that article:

‘People often use the terms health and wellness interchangeably. Although a person cannot have one and not the other, they are two different concepts that are quite variable, and their meanings are different.

World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity (illness).”

WHO defines wellness as “the optimal state of health of individuals and groups,” and wellness is expressed as “a positive approach to living.”

The primary difference between health and wellness is that health is the goal and wellness is the active process of achieving it. You truly cannot have health without first achieving wellness. Wellness has a direct influence on overall health, which is essential for living a robust, happy, and fulfilled life.’

Where to from here?

Wellness in every aspect of life!

EMPFESIS on Wellness!!

To expand on this idea and explore the relationship between many of The Health And Wellness factors mentioned in the above excerpt, as well as the connection between those factors and the coldness with which people sometimes treat each other, it would be necessary to dig a little deeper into the psychological effects of ill health on people’s behavior and whether or not improved health can be used as a barometer to measure peoples’ feelings toward each other.

When you really think about it, relationships are at their coldest – countries as well as individuals – when there is little or no friendship; and there is little or no friendship when folks don’t know and trust each other; and folks don’t know and trust each other when there is little or no conversation or communication between and among them. So the only way to create warmth and end distrust between and among individuals, thereby beginning the “thaw” in these relationships is to get to know each other through meet and greet, time spent, and conversation. It is only then that we can begin to help each other in the most meaningful, caring and rewarding ways. The following paragraph provide an outline to our brand of solutions to some of life’s problems.

The Greatest Pleasure
The universal symbol of civil discourse

The universal indicator of human wellness!

I cannot conclude without letting you know that, if you are in search of credible information relating to discomfort due to physical pain, or find yourself in an uncomfortable situation due to financial pain it is my privilege to let you know that I found the remedy to both kinds of pain. And while I am neither a doctor or a banker you can be assured that my experiences with both types of pain have been many, some of which were severe on occasion; but I was fortunate enough to be in what I consider “the right place at the right time” in March 2019, when I was introduced to a gentleman who provided me a pathway to membership in a network of community-minded business people where I found the right combination of pain remedy and financial opportunity, as well as solutions to so many other deficiencies.

What I have experienced as a member of the network can be summed up in this well-known and profound statement by ancient Greek philosopher, Epicurus: “…the best activities are those that produce the greatest pleasures and the greatest pleasures are those that relieve the most pain and anxiety, those pleasures that are most conducive to peace of mind or [tranquility].” The opportunity is yours to accept. The objectives are real and the journey is rewarding! We invite you to take a look at the community as well as the opportunity and rewards for yourself. Welcome!

Breathe Easy – No Side Effects!

In pursuit of clean air

According to the article, Asthma Medications, written by Sharma et al., and published to the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website, “Asthma is a wide-reaching, chronic, inflammatory illness that impacts millions of people daily.” As you know, NCBI is among the most credible sources of health-related content in the world.

But if you have a child who suffers from asthma, or you suffer from this inflammatory illness yourself, you really don’t need the NCBI, me, or anyone else to tell you about the pain, discomfort and other inconveniences caused by this illness; and the fact that some treatments and medications along with their dreaded side effects can sometimes make matters even worst is enough to merit pursuing other forms of relief.

If the air inside your home or your child(ren)’s room(s) is unhealthy, whether it be due to smoking, pets, dust, or a lack of fresh air, do you know the impact it may have on your child(ren)? Smoking, pet hair, and the lack of fresh air have been known to cause numerous health problems which include asthma. That is why it is so very important that you do everything in your power to keep the air inside your home, especially inside your child(ren)’s room(s), clean and pure. And if you are a smoker or a pet owner, the best option may be to quit smoking or get rid of your pets. But of course you may not want to do that, so the next best thing is Continue reading “Breathe Easy – No Side Effects!”
